Synchronization

The ERP synchronization connects Blocq Inventory Management with an external inventory system. Xentral and plentyONE are supported with a real, bidirectional sync: stock is mirrored, changes are written back.

Optional

The sync is optional. Without a connection, Inventory Management runs fully in Blocq-only mode — with its own bookings, stocktakes and transfers.

Credentials & security

The connection is established via the credentials of the external system (e.g. API key/endpoint). These are stored securely and only actually transmitted when you publish your app — in the App Builder they are not pushed live.

Sensitive data

Treat the API credentials like a password. They are stored encrypted and not shown in plain text.

The “ERP leads” principle

External system leads

If a sync is active, the external system leads the stock. The manual booking buttons (Book delivery in / Book reduction) are hidden in the frontend — booking happens in Xentral/plentyONE and Blocq mirrors the stock.

This avoids two “truths”: the stock stays consistent because only one place books and the other syncs.

1. Open the Synchronization area in the Inventory Management editor
2. Choose the system (Xentral or plentyONE)
3. Enter the credentials
4. Run the connection test
5. Enable the sync and check the status

Note on hospitality / Blocq-only

Usually not needed for hospitality

For hospitality, the external connection is usually not relevant — Blocq-only mode fully covers counter, warehouse and stocktake. The sync is worthwhile mainly if you already run an ERP/e-commerce system like Xentral or plentyONE.
