Shift Types

Shift types define the different kinds of shifts in your company. Each shift type has its own properties such as color, default times, and break duration.

In the “Shift Types” tab, you see all defined shift types as a list. Each entry shows:

  • Name and description
  • Color code as badge
  • Default times
  • Active/Inactive status
  1. Tap the “Plus” button
  2. Enter a name (e.g., “Early Shift”)
  3. Select a color
  4. Set default times
  5. Optional: Add a description
  6. Save the shift type

To edit an existing shift type:

  1. Tap the shift type in the list
  2. Change the desired properties
  3. Tap “Save”

Changes affect all future shifts of this type. Existing shifts retain their original settings.

To delete a shift type:

  1. Open the shift type
  2. Tap the trash icon
  3. Confirm deletion

Here is a typical configuration for a retail store:

There is no limit to the number of shift types. However, we recommend keeping the number manageable (typical: 3-8 types).

Can I change the color of an existing shift type?

Yes, you can change the color at any time. The new color is immediately applied to all shifts of this type in the calendar.

What happens to shifts when I deactivate the shift type?

Existing shifts are retained and continue to be displayed in the calendar. Only new shifts of this type can no longer be created.

Can I have different break times for the same shift type?

The shift type’s break time is a default. You can set a different break time for each individual shift.
