Booking Defaults

In the Booking Defaults tab you set default values that are automatically applied when creating a new resource. This way you don’t have to set recurring settings each time.

SettingDescriptionDefault
Approval requiredNew resources require approval for bookings by default

If the default is active, the Approval required toggle is pre-set for every newly created resource. Bookings then land first as a pending request in the approval inbox, until someone eligible confirms them.

Here you set on which weekdays new resources are generally bookable and within which time window.

One toggle per weekday (Monday to Sunday). Active days are shown as columns in the calendar; nothing can be entered on non-bookable days.

SettingDescriptionRange
Opening timeEarliest bookable hour0 – 23
Closing timeLatest bookable hour1 – 24

These times limit the rows shown in the calendar. Hours outside the window do not appear for booking.

SettingDescriptionRange
Horizon (weeks)How many weeks ahead fixed recurrence rules are generated as concrete bookings1 – 52 weeks

Recurring bookings (e.g. “every Tuesday 6:00–8:00 PM Hall 1”) are not calculated indefinitely into the future, but materialized as real booking instances on a rolling basis up to this horizon. When opening the calendar and when creating a recurrence rule, the module automatically catches up.

  1. Open the Booking editor
  2. Switch to the Booking Defaults tab
  3. Set the default approval
  4. Enable the desired weekdays and the time window
  5. Set the recurrence horizon
  6. Tap Save at the top right
