General

In the General area you set the global basics of Inventory Management: the lists for units and categories, the behavior on minimum stock, permissions, visibility, the scanner and the custom fields.

Units describe in what an article is kept (pieces, kg, liters, packs …). They are freely configurable — there is no fixed list. When creating an article you choose one of these units.

Categories group articles for filtering and reporting (e.g. “Drinks”, “Cleaning”, “Dry goods”). They are admin-defined too. In the article list and in the report you can filter by category.

Every article has a minimum stock. If a branch’s stock falls below this threshold, the article is flagged as under-supplied:

  • Highlighted in the article list and on the dashboard
  • Counted in the KPI tile Below minimum
  • Optionally as a push notification

SettingDescriptionDefault
Staff may create articlesAllows non-admins to create new articlesOff

When the toggle is off, only admins can create articles; staff still book and count. When on, staff may also create new article master data.

Cross-branch stock visibleA branch also sees other branches’ stockOff

When the toggle is off, each branch sees only its own stock. When on, the stock of all branches is visible — handy to check where goods are before a transfer.

When the scanner is active, tapping the scanner icon opens the camera immediately. A recognized EAN/SKU opens the matching article directly. More under Articles.

Custom fields (the “Custom fields” tab)

Section titled “Custom fields (the “Custom fields” tab)”

Beyond the fixed core fields, you can define any custom fields. This captures assortment-specific information without writing it into the description.
