Forum Editor
The Forum Editor gives you full control over your app’s community forum. You determine how categories and threads look, which features are active, and how moderation works.
Overview
Section titled “Overview”The editor is divided into six areas (tabs):
Opening the Editor
Section titled “Opening the Editor”- Open Edit Mode in your app (App Builder Tools)
- Go to Module & Features
- Tap on Forum and then on Edit or Forum Editor
- The editor opens with the six tabs
Editor Interface
Section titled “Editor Interface”The Tabs
Section titled “The Tabs”At the top, you’ll find six tabs that you can switch between by tapping or swiping:

| Moderation | Approvals, word filters, spam protection, auto-lock, content limits |
Light and Dark Mode
Section titled “Light and Dark Mode”In the Layout tab, you can configure separate colors for Light and Dark Mode:
- Open the Layout tab
- Scroll to the Colors section
- Use the toggle at the top to switch between Light Mode and Dark Mode
- Adjust the colors for each mode
Automatic Saving
Section titled “Automatic Saving”All changes are saved automatically. You don’t need to do anything extra - as soon as you make a change, it’s saved in the ISAR database and takes effect immediately.
Forum Concepts
Section titled “Forum Concepts”Categories
Section titled “Categories”Categories organize your forum into thematic areas. Each thread belongs to exactly one category.
- Categories are managed in the Admin Area (not in the editor)
- You can set the name, description, icon, and color for each category
- Categories can be activated/deactivated
Threads
Section titled “Threads”A thread is a discussion on a topic. It has a title, content, and can receive replies.
Replies
Section titled “Replies”Replies are posts within a thread. Depending on the configuration, they can:
- Be nested (replies to replies)
- Be rated (upvote/downvote or like)
- Be marked as a solution
Resetting
Section titled “Resetting”If you want to reset all settings:
- Tap the Reset icon in the top right
- Confirm the warning
- All settings will be reset to default values

Section titled “Frequently Asked Questions”How do I save my changes?
Section titled “How do I save my changes?”Changes are saved automatically! As soon as you make a change, it’s saved in the ISAR database.
Where do I manage categories?
Section titled “Where do I manage categories?”Categories are managed in the Admin area, not in the editor. Go to Admin > Forum > Categories.
Which voting system should I choose?
Section titled “Which voting system should I choose?”- Upvote/Downvote: For technical forums, Q&A, feedback (like Reddit/StackOverflow)
- Likes Only: For community discussions, social features (like Instagram)
- Disabled: For purely informational forums without rating
Can I make the forum accessible to guests?
Section titled “Can I make the forum accessible to guests?”Yes! In the Access tab, you can set whether guests can read and list threads. However, posting always requires a login.
How does solution marking work?
Section titled “How does solution marking work?”When enabled, the thread creator can mark a reply as “solution.” This is then highlighted and the thread is marked as “solved.” Ideal for support forums.
