General

In the General tab you configure how the Sports module is displayed by default, how many items appear on the home page, how teams are rendered, and how the RSVP system behaves.

Start View

Choose which view is shown when the Sports module is opened. Since the 2026-04 release there are four options:

Overview (Home)

The sports dashboard as the landing page. Shows teams, upcoming matches, recent results, and (when enabled) a standings preview on one screen.

Schedule

The schedule view lists upcoming and past matches in chronological order.

The teams view shows all available teams as cards.

Motivating for teams

Recommendation

For most clubs the Overview view is the best choice because it teases all areas. Pick a specific view only when your club has a clear focus (e.g. pure league play → Standings).

How does the redirect work?

When a view other than Overview is selected, the module automatically redirects to the configured route on first open. Returning to Home afterwards keeps you there — no loop.

Upcoming Matches

Enable display

Setting	Description
Show upcoming matches	Displays a preview of the next matches on the home page

When enabled, users see the next matches directly on the sports home screen without having to open the schedule.

Number of matches

Setting	Description	Range
Upcoming matches count	How many matches are shown?	1 - 20

Recommended values:

• 3-5 matches for small clubs with a single team
• 5-10 matches for clubs with multiple teams
• 10-20 matches for large clubs with many teams

Note

The count covers all teams together. 5 teams with 2 upcoming matches each = 10 matches shown.

Recent Results

The block appears directly below the upcoming matches. When disabled, the entire section is hidden.

Sensible values

3 results usually show the current trend. 10 results work well for a half-season retrospective.

Team Display

Configure how teams appear on the dedicated teams page (/sports/teams):

Team logos

Setting	Description
Show team logos	Displays the colored team icon on the left of each card. On/Off

With logos off the team cards render text-only and minimal — handy when your teams deliberately don’t maintain colors or icons.

RSVP Behavior

Configure how players respond to their participation in matches. The settings apply wherever RSVP buttons appear (match detail, RSVP page).

Allow “Maybe”

Setting	Description
Allow “Maybe”	Players can choose Yes / Maybe / No. Disabled: only Yes / No

Force decisions

Disable Maybe if you’re tired of the “I’ll see” phenomenon — without the option players are pushed into an early commitment either way.

Require reason on decline

Setting	Description
Require reason on decline	Choosing “No” opens a dialog asking for a reason

When enabled, the RSVP status can only be saved after a non-empty reason is entered. The player may cancel the dialog — then the RSVP stays unchanged.

Coaches see the provided reasons in the RSVP list next to the status.

Default RSVP deadline (days before match)

This value pre-fills the deadline on new matches when the creator doesn’t set one manually. 0 disables the automatic pre-fill.

Only when RSVP is active

All three settings only take effect when Yes/No (RSVP) is enabled in the Features tab.

Applying changes

1. Open the Sports Editor
2. Switch to the General tab
3. Pick the desired Start View
4. Adjust the options for Upcoming Matches, Recent Results, and Team Display as needed
5. Configure the RSVP Behavior (only relevant when RSVP is enabled in Features)
6. Tap Save at the top right

Tips

Try out start views

Test different start views and ask your team which one they prefer.

Season-dependent

During the off-season the Teams view makes sense, while the Overview or Schedule works better during the season.

Use mandatory reason responsibly

Enable Require reason on decline only if your team culture supports it. In casual settings it quickly feels intrusive — in competitive play it helps coaches plan.
